A helmet that meets SNELL will almost always meet DOT, but not necessarily the other way around.

If you wanna be cheap and buy a cheap helmet fine....but don't tell me it's better than a Snell rated helmet. That is just BS

Better depends on what you're intending to do with it, protect your head or drive nails.

I'm only trying to clear what Earl stated, which is: "I didn't say Snell had a poor standard. I said I didn't approve of it because it doesn't apply as well as it should for my type of riding. Dot and EU standards do."
I really don't understand the argument. The man made his decision?

I had to re-check and sure enough, my current Scorpion helmet is ECE and DOT approved. My HJC that I crashed in is only DOT. While I don't use it any longer, it's there.
Use what you are comfortable with. 1 may not save your life over another, but use one regardless!!!
