Charge your batt, and try it again. Sounds like your battery has a bit of a slow discharge, or perhaps it wasnt running long enough to get it charged back up from before when it WOULD start.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
Cory, I'm probably the brokest, dumbest, least experienced guy here. I did the coil mod a couple weeks ago on an 850 with a battery that I though would have to be fully charged before the bike would start. 82 model with factory coils. I put new plugs in and fresh gas, a little seafoam and the bike started before the 1st complete spin of the engine. My bike runs now without full choke, and you can tell by sound that the combustion is a lot more complete. You won't be disappointed! btw, Unless you're an engineer, Cliff's links are easier to understand. Search threads for others that have done the mod, they have other links and more info on it too.hey cory, i just did the mod yesterday, along with new plug wires. havent started it yet, but the mod is easy, look on bikecliff's little site for a concise version, too. i got my relay with a socket for 10 bucks at my local ace hardware, monted it up under the spine, you cant even see it with the tank off. i will start it tonight after work, maybe it cured my cold #3 pipe? anyway, it is easy, even if you solder the connections....though i think just crimping would be better than stock anyway. we are close, bud, and once we get it all sorted out, it will be tens of thousands of miles of bliss. at least until the next thing breaks.....hehe. maybe i should just get a harley, less wrenching that way....KIDDING, PLEASE DONT PULL MY GSR MEMBERSHIP!!!
While I have no problem with anyone doing this mod (I will probably do it myself), I would not start on it until you at least get the bike running. Best to only work on one problem at a time, otherwise you don't know which problem you are trying to solve. 8-[It sounds like the coil mod is the agreed upon next step.
Sure is. You take em to the dealership, cos their the only ones that still have tools from the STONE AGE :-Dhey cory, i just did the mod yesterday, along with new plug wires. havent started it yet, but the mod is easy, look on bikecliff's little site for a concise version, too. i got my relay with a socket for 10 bucks at my local ace hardware, monted it up under the spine, you cant even see it with the tank off. i will start it tonight after work, maybe it cured my cold #3 pipe? anyway, it is easy, even if you solder the connections....though i think just crimping would be better than stock anyway. we are close, bud, and once we get it all sorted out, it will be tens of thousands of miles of bliss. at least until the next thing breaks.....hehe. maybe i should just get a harley, less wrenching that way....KIDDING, PLEASE DONT PULL MY GSR MEMBERSHIP!!!
