A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

IS this a good color combo for an old gs

I think it will work.. just not sure how to do it exactly... I like the yellow, black, silver combo.

it could work with a bit of imagination, as could any colours. do it right and it will look great, rush it and do a bad job it could look hideous.
i studied sooooo many colour options before painting my GS and in the end i opted for good old black and white.
some like it, some hate it. end of the day its my bike and i think it looks stunning. thats all that matters

Great suggestion. have been working hard on it... and since it was cut and messed with, i cant restore it without A LOT of work. So I figure, customize it!

I'm going for something a little like this. Photoshoped of course, but you can get the idea...

I guess that is the idea then.. go with what "I" like, and dont worry about the rest.

I was just checking to make sure I wasn't making a "REALLY BIG MISTAKE" in the color choice, but since Suzuki used it, it should be ok.

actually my bike is more white and black, rather than black and white! ;)

Too much black in your photoshop. Everyone does that

A good dose of yellow would make it much more personal. Like, on the tank, do the top 2/3 yellow, then a silver stripe below and 2" of black along the bottom

Then, relocate the electrical panel up under the seat and put a gel battery in the tail. That will clean up the look

I like bumbleBee colors done well. Yellow & white with black pinstriping looks nice. (old Yamaha)
I also like some of the old fashioned paint schemes -- such as the GeeBee race airplane.
It all depends how loud you want to go...

This is my inspiration... doing it the colors of the sample pic that i uploaded the yellow, black and silver.

The photoshop look is only to drop the belly pan in.. it is actually what it looks like now other than the graphics.. I am going with a yellow on top and black on the bottom with silver accents and pin striping.

ok i photoshoped a quick rendition... just one of many idea's...

bump to get your opinions

I think it would look better with a more traditional stripe, maybe checkered like the Yoshi replicas. These lightning bolt-ish stuff that's going on there distorts the nice vintage lines of the bike, in my humble opinion.

I like the pointy stripes. WAY better than your first black image. Plus the yellow looks good.

If your gonna make a custom bike do it properly and make it grab some attention. Too many black customs IMO.

You might do a search on Reno Air races. I've seen some interesting paint ideas on those airplanes.

Hey not too many people liked my green and black until they saw the parts I had painted together.
