A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

well after much frustration it fired up today :dancing: and did a search on here of my latest problem which is fuel is flowing over and leaking into the airbox.. i am almost certain that its the o-rings in the float valve seat since i did not get new ones thats for my next pay check i tried tapping the bowls to see if it was just a stuck float but it kept happening no matter how much i hit them.. funny its only carbs 2, 3, and 4. and im sure its not the petcock.. but im just posting this thread cause the sun was shinning for a min and soon it will be on the road. im also going to have the dealer have a look see to make sure I dotted the i's and crossed the t's.. well cheers

What an optimist:
... funny its only carbs 2, 3, and 4.

im also going to have the dealer have a look see to make sure I dotted the i's and crossed the t's..
And ... didn't you know? You are supposed to cross your Is and dot your Ts.

ya the igniter worked great thanks again chef with out you this wouldn't be possible.. sounds a bit corny but its true id still be running in circles.. and its also a breath of fresh air to finally just be a member of this forum that isent just "help me" all the time. the search feature is a great one, just gotta remember if it happened to you it happened to someone else first... also its funny when i open'd up the carbs i just got to look at/ clean i had come to realize the ones that were on there were not bad at all so i swapped most of what was in there except for the valve seat o-rings since i dident move the seats that were there.. now i do have a silly but relevant question..a whole turn on the mix screw is a whole turn one complete flip of the screw driver or is it one turn as far as your wrist will go like to turn a doorknob..

ok not quite alive....

ok not quite alive....

as some would i stepped away from the bike for a while to come back with new eyes.. well after replacing the carb set after breaking a float post, i swaped my jets with the ones that were in it (it was from a gs 750) checked my valve clerances and all in spec, floats to spec, new intake boots and o-rings, bench synced, 2 turns on the mix screw, new coils, and new/used igniter, it fired up but then died it will only fire with using my arm over the air box side of the carbs creating resistance.. and after 2mins of running as such removed my arm it idled a bit then died. the spark plugs completely black with carbon from running too rich.. leaned it up and nothing changed.. rich no change.. only one diaphragm wasn't moving right #2 and im going to replace it (i have a few for this bike) but it still should run im really really confused, i feel like im doing everythng i can think of and still falling short somewhere. ive done the searches on here and just about every little thing i do from those suggestions here is where i am at im short of ripping my hair out..
