Finished putting all the parts back on and fired up the 1981 GS1000L for the first time in about 2 years.
It didn't start at first, so I took the airbox off and with some gas spritzing it started. I'm going to raise the floats a tad. I think I may have set them a little too low.
When I bought it, the bike would continue to rev around 4k after letting off the throttle. I tore everything apart from air box to the head and put new rubber everywhere.
Then when putting it all back together and testing everything, I found the problem. The choke cable wasn't letting the choke rod close all the way, by a lot.
Tomorrow I'll adjust the floats, and then I get to sync the carbs while using my new Colortune spark plug that came in the mail today, ala bringer's excellent recommendation.
Thanks gang.
