Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Well it's a new battery in the Rat Bike. Been almost 2 years since it's been started due to me breaking my knee back 2015 and then my wrist in 2016.

Getting her ready to go back to the track if I don't break anything else, forgot how good she sounds.

Love oil cooled bikes. I think I'll start a list and call it OC 325

Wait...you're from Abilene, TX?

I lived on Hawn Circle over by Dyess Base from 1993-99.

Nice start-up BTW. I have a liking to the GS1100E.

Open megaphones sound great on inline fours. What are you moving by the ignition cover? Is it the timing plate?

That beast is a real soldier ! And so are u Jake. Didn't know about your mishaps. Hope things are healing nicely. Always liked your track reports.....

Thanks
The only bike I've haven't laid down is the Rat Bike and had her like 25 years now. Took the B King to the 1/8 last week and ran against a big tire Kawasaki and that made me want to get the old gal back out there.

Got to Dyess in 92 and retired in 02. Worked in AGE, 196 Trailer maintenance and was a "GOD" as facility manager for the Group Commander. If they wanted money they had to go through me, everybody wanted to be my best friend.

I probably past your house at least 10,000 times!

I blew up the timing advancer over 10 years ago and just bolted a filler gauge to the timing plate to set my timing, also replaced the rotor allowing fixed timing.

Hit our 1/8 track on Friday T&T and man did it feel weird ? Front end felt loose like a bicycle, I guess riding the B King for the past 2 years spoiled me. First run I took it easy like a 8 second run just to get use to it again. 2nd run I put it on the 2 step and it spun bad like 7 second run so I took out another spring and ended up running just 3 oem springs in the lockup and 2 step at 6K. 3rd run it hooked better and ran straight at 6.35 so I lower the Hookup tire pressure from 13 psi to 10 psi and my last run was 6.24.

Best part the bike is running straight as an arrow and getting faster after 2 year break. Next time the nitrous will be on and I'll be back in the 5's again.

Looks like another GS at the track, haven't seen him on T&T nights. He dials in at 6.13 so it should be a good race.

This guy looks like my team mate and good friend Sonny with his T shirt hanging out of his leathers riden an old GS and also going 6.0's to high 5.90's.
And how do you post big pics?

Don't they make you zip the jacket to the pants there? Is it not a NHRA track?

You would think self preservation would be sufficient for that, people shouldn't have to be told those sorts of things.

Mark

NHRA under 120 mph 2 piece is ok but has to be zipper, IHRA 2 piece does not need to be zipped.

Outlaw track anything goes.

Under 120mph and you don't need full leathers. Anything over 120mph it full leathers and they must be ziped together if a 2 piece. I have no idea how he can get away with it but he does.
I prefer a two piece leathers so I can remove the jacket without removing the pants.

Jake how quick did you get your b king. And how about those 60 foots??

Back in March I ran 10 runs in the 1/8 in less than an hour and man can that B King clutch take a beating. Right in the middle of all those runs she ran a 6.53, 6.55 and 6.56 at 109 mph. 60ft was only 1.67 and the front end wasn't strapped down. Gearing was 18/48 too. With a little more tuning she might get in the 6.30 ?

Finally got to run with this guy last Friday. It's been like 10 years since another GS lined up with me. Air was like 6000 feet and his best was 6.35 and mine was 6.31 and that was a lot of fun, neck and neck all the way.
