If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Anybody out there fitted gsxr carbs to a gs1100? I have a set of 36 mm mikunis off a gsxr going on a gs 1100 e with filter pods, 4 into 1 and half race cams. Has anybody done anything similar and if so where did you end up with jetting? Does anybody know anything about tuning these carbs? Thanks, Rik

Jets where to start?

I'm running 90 GSXR 11 carbs on a 84 1150 w/pods. I did not have the opportunity to try the carbs stock as they came used with a Dynojet kit. I had horrible problems at first, fouling all four plugs. Not once but several times.

I bought a Factory jet kit , same problem fouled plugs. I think the carbs had been tinkered with. The Dynojet needles are much fatter and blunter than the Factory needles.

I was told to start at 14mm float height and go from there. I had to lean them out 3-4mm to get it running somewhat right. The pilots were increased from 30 to 32.5, the needle is on the middle clip and the mains are 147.5. 2 1/2 on the air fuel screws.

I think I need to lower needle a half a mm as it feels blubbery now on the middle clip. I had just changed to the middle from the second from the top to see if that would smooth out running around town at small throttle openings. It actually doesn't surge as much in town now but feels thick in the 1/4 to 2/3 throttle openings.

I don't know if you have the carbs with the idle adjustment screw underneath the carbs or on the side. If its underneath, I had to have it shortened because it was touching the top of the cam chain tensioner.

It changes the character of the bike a lot. Throttle response is much more immediate than the stock carbs. I don't know how much power you gain but they might compliment the cams you have.

I also found the stock GS 11 throttle cable too long so I'm using the GSXR cable fitted to the the stock GS throttle housing. One more thing, get the cable inserted to the carb before mounting the carbs to the engine and leave the other end free to snake up to the bars with the gas tank off. Carter

Thanks. These aren't stock either. I can't remember what they came off but they came with a bag of jets and needles and evidence of tampering. Any clues on stock jetting on a GSXR1100?

Rufus, no clue on the stock jetting. I just know the stock pilots were 30's. Carter
