so i have read alot of threads on here reffering to 2 jets , a pilot , and a main , i looked my bike over and i only have 1 jet on the top of the carb (82 gs850g), the yak who jacked my bike all up said he synch'd the carbs, highly unlikely , pod air filters were creating way too much flow causing it to run lean and pop, sometimes through the exhaust and sometimes through the carb. after a little cleaning of the plugs i decided to wrap the pod aircleaners about halfway in black tape ( it couldnt get any worse ) what a suprise , i worked ! perfect acceleration , a lil dead about 2500-3500, then its a rocket , i was pleased with myself , so i went on and turned the jet screws 1 hour ( if they were in 6 oclock position i turned them to 5 ) counterclockwise , again a step in the right direction , i think the points may be a factor , spark is strong, again , im a little new any pointers from where im at now to get a little more tuning , stock bike , stock exhaust , i was told the pods were letting air and fuel in , but the popping was caused by it not being able to escape , what about modifying the stock exhaust?
