A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi, I was here years ago... I have recently bought another gke... couldn't help myself, the voices in my head told me to.. honest! :) Anyway I have been cleaning and quickly polishing and doing a little painting to make it look neater than the attached pic of how I bought it. It had wasp nests under fuel tank, in between the fins and near spark plugs. Ahhh Australia.. we have some lovely fauna! I can hear the old owner speaking to the mechanic, "Can't seem to find that buzzing noise in my bike!"IMG-20151105-02252 - Copy.jpg Ha!

Cheers Redman. Yes it is complete and going. Dirty and road worn. It's done many kilometers!! Also has quite a few stone chips etc and faded paint. But it's all mine! :)

left old.jpg Took off fairing for easier access to clean motor... then took off brackets and exhaust and panniers and.....

left new.jpg Bit of paint and polish... and refitting, looking much better. Side covers are off as some-one painted them quickly but not well. I sanded.. and painted primer on them today.

... and quite a good engine clean up you did.
wow, is that really the same stator cover...?

.

Great to see you're bringing her back to real nice condition. Enjoy your GK.

Ditto what Redman said. Looking great! You're giving me inspiration to dive into mine. Keep the pics coming!

right new - Copy.jpg Right side now. Only up to rear of engine.... Still have to tidy up frame and swing arm etc. I have polished all the chrome panniers bars too.

wasp nest.jpg Part of wasp nest... most of it was stuck to the underside of the tank... took a bit of scraping to get it all off.

side cover 1 - Copy.jpg I re-spray painted my side covers and hand painted the black and red on badge. Looks much better.. though non original gold pin-stripes.
