A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Dude that thing is Diesel...

Dude that thing is Diesel...

I think it looks kind of like the naked version of the MV Augusta with that head light.

Very nice.

Whoa, nice compliment, thanks!! Those MV's are sweet:

Thought I'd update this thread with the latest look of the bike - finished in black.

Man you do nice work! Looks like you dropped your old 1100 right in a newer bike. Enjoy the ride!

Get ready for all the people asking, "where do I get one"?

Work

Work

Wow! That's amazing work! You really made one of a kind there! I like the bike in black. How much experience did you have working on bikes before this project? It looks top-notch!

Thanks for the comments!

I've been riding since I was 16, but this is my first real "modified" bike. I've been modifying cars for years, though. I'm (finally) enjoying riding it, although it still needs a few tweaks - in making it more sporty, I've buggered up the wonderful GS ergonomics. I'm going to redo the risers to get the bars back a bit further so it's more comfortable - I'm too old for that hunched over/weight on the arms sportbike thing.

Nice, I'm assuming that Hindle is from some other application. Like the black paint.

That is a SWEET and professional build up! I did kind of the same thing with respect to your exhaust, except I used a D&D canister from a late 90's Kawi ZX7. Awesome job!

thanks guys..

isleoman - the hindle was on the bike when I bought it, so can't comment on original application.

Mark M - it's from a european Yamaha FZ6n - dunno why we haven't been getting cool bikes like that here in N. America, but I guess they're starting to show up.

another sweet looking bike. that front brake reservoir is kinda sticking up there, though....ugh, i cant believe i just said that.....really, beautiful. i wanna buy another gs and get to work....

no, I agree with you - I've been thinking to go to an original square reservoir style, as they sit lower and are less obtrusive. It's just low on the priority list right now - I'm just enjoying riding it.. :)
