A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just about said something to "Got Harley" guy.

Ok since everyone is getting mad at me, obviously my little buell cant beat a fully tuned race bike. Nor was I comparing it to them or the guys that ride them(fully tuned race bikes). Im talking about the guys here on the streets. I can out ride a lot of them on my bike. And of course a bike with 90hp and 80lbs of torque isnt going to beat a bike with 150hp and 90lbs of torque. But a bike with 150hp and 120lbs will beat a bike of similar weight with 170hp and 100lbs of torque. Yall are too literal :)

It's unbelievable that this thread is still active. I've been away for a while. Months, actually. I see the Harley bashing hasn't let up any. What a waste of time and effort. Been on my HD alot lately. The old girl's got 65,000+ miles on her. More than most of the GS's here.

more than most how the hell do you know that?
Ludicrous statement
HARLEYS SUCK!

You should try eating more fiber. On the miles thing, I'm willing to be proven wrong. But I'm not. I'll start. I bought my '79 GS1000E used in May of 2011, I think. It had about 25,000 miles on it. I bought my '07 Electra Glide new in '06. It now has 65,000+ miles on it. Your turn. Pretty sure the only responses will be from guys with more miles than that.

And by the way, in my absence from the forum, I didn't badmouth any Suzukis. Not once.

harleys suck, but so do yamahas. i really hate yamahas, especially viragos and vmaxes.

Let me stress something, as the original poster, ..... was not my intent to criticize/bash/degrade the Harleys or Harley riders. Not specifically Harley. But biker in general. By biker I mean someone that wants to BE a biker, more than just being someone who enjoys riding.

Just that the guy had the biker get-up and big letter sweatshirt, and the sweatshirt was asking a question (Got Harley?) ... and I wanted to give an answer to the question, and thinking how I could pose the answer in terms of "No, but I do have my bike here, and I don't see any other bikes." I thought that would be fun to joke around and answer his question like that.

THen I remembered where I had seen that guy before, and how annoying that experience was. And then I thought that I would not be able to act like I was joking around, that I would not be joking around, I would be snide and rude. So I elected to not say anything.

If the thread didn't go where you wanted it to I'm pretty sure you can delete the entire thread by deleting the original post.

Why, because a Harley guy can't take a little ribbing about Harleys on a Suzuki forum? I'm sure Harley forums are no stranger to bashing Jap scrap.:p

No, because Redman seems genuinely concerned that the thread didn't take the direction he had intended.

25+ years ago there was a magazine called, Biker Lifestyle. It had very few tech articles. Lots of picks of drunks at weekend parties and pages of tats, letters from the "inside" and so on. There was once an editorial column that directly said, "If you don't ride a bike, you ain't a biker.....and that geek on a Japanese moped is more of a biker than you." It was retracted the next month and the editor was gone.

tech tip: if yer looking for information on the internet to help you fix a harley DO NOT type the word "harley" into your search!!! just use the model and year. otherwise you'll end up with scams and pictures of tattooed girls in bikinis sitting on overdone choppers. ok, that's not so bad but you're not gonna get anything done....

Guess I'm kind of in the middle. Some Harley's suck and some Suzuki's suck. But neither suck as much as Prius's.

In reply to the video, come on. It should be running wide open, then put a sledge to the crankcase, and watch it go down. Then start on the glass parts and work your way around. And by the way,a gentleman always lets a lady hit the tank first.

those guys were anything but gentlemen. check out the video by the same bunch called "female tug of war". fish hooks in their backs. I. S. Y. Not.
