Anyone have a trick for keeping those pods filters on better? I have one that keeps falling off and doesnt seem to want to seat properly. Maybe some RTV ?

Maybe the clamp is stripped? Does the same pod pop off if it's on a different carb?

Wrap a little electrical tape on the outside of the carb intake. Ensure the tape does not protrude into the carb.

[-o< It's a sign from God telling you to put your stock airbox back on.[-o<

bike never came with a stock airbox, it was already jetted with k&n and a header , runs killer , theres gotta be a trick to getting them to stay, I had another bike that did the same thing , I will try the tape-

try spraying some hair spray on the sealing surface of the filter. Yes---hairspray

I figured out on mine that I was over tightening them. No I just snug them up and I havent had one fall off yet. Also, I always wipe the carbs down where the filters seal with brake cleaner.......it takes all the oil and what not off.

Hope this helps.

:-| As someone who has seen cleaner pods in action over the years. There is not much you can do about pods coming off, it seems to be nature of the beast, put a actual airbox back on!

I figured it out with these things, the hose clamps that were on there are to thin, the width is just over a 1/4 inch making them "pinch" off , so I got some wider ones , about a 1/2 inch wide, and they are holding well, none have fallen off yet , stoked

Ignore everyone that tells you to put the stock airbox back on. Since this is not what you asked about they are NOT BEING HELPFUL!

Good luck with the pods.

I don't have pods but I was thinking about putting them on. Isn't there something to hang the pod from the frame to take stress off of the manifold boots? The support line would help to keep them on.

had the same problem on my GSXR1100. The way i solved it was to completly loosen the clamp, that way you see if it works, as well. Then slide the filter on the carb intake and pusck it as far as possible forward. Then move the clamp forward, which is easy since it is lose and start thighting it. Do not over thigthen but make sure it is snug, by trying to move the filter, which you should not be able to do. It worked for me so I hope this is of help.

I was thinking about possibly putting these on as well. asbjones are you
pretty happy with them? Just wondering what all is involved with using them.
Glad to hear you got them to stay on.

i'd suggest something that might come as heresy to some of the faithful, but...

...score the surface of the carb where the pod clamps on. crosshatch pattern or go over it with rough stone, anything to make the metal have edges and grooves. then the rubber of the boot on the pod will have something to grip into when the clamp is tightened down.

if you do this, make sure that the scoring stays within at least a millimeter of the front and back edges of the carb mouth so you won't invite any leaks.

Oh, and go get a new clamp, the one you have might suck.
