long story short i have a set of freshly rebuilt cr31s with 40mm spigots and a 1980gs1000e with a stock motor. is it worth the effort to make them best friends or should i go directly to ebay with these suckers? on the one hand they're old school awesome. on the other in the process of rebuilding i discovered parts for these carbs are spendy. possibly too spendy to make it worth tuning.
i'm afraid i'm getting too close for comfort to the point of having more invested than they're worth based on what a new set costs. i've found cr31 kits available for the liters so i'd like to assume it's a legitimate combination but i have yet to find anyone running it. just searching around i've also found the consensus to be that these aren't great street carbs. if you are running cr31s and are reading this maybe you can help me out by at least giving me an idea of base jetting with a stock motor, 4-1 pipe, and pods.
thanks for any input.
