A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This cost 5 bucks... and if you hate it, you can tear it off... but it works SLICK and looks pretty good to boot!

No "Daytime" pic, but this gives you a good shot... Doesn't change the over-all look, but provides a bit of function in protecting your tank and giving a solid place to put your knees.

Please excuse the blur.

Yessir. It's about 180 grit, black skateboarders tape for skate decks. Handy crap. Cuts easy with scissors.

They make a few products specifically for this purpose. StompGrips are my fav as they come in crystal clear, rubber nubbies that don't tear your pants up and they leave no residue on the tank

Looks good but I wouldnt put my jeans through that kind of torture, much less with a $100+ pair of Kevlar reenforced jeans.

How wide is that tape? Can you make the pads with just on piece, or do you have to "laminate" multiple strips?

Haha.... you guys.

Its skateboard deck tape... about 3-5 bucks for a 12" x 28" piece... and its peel and stick... you can buy it anywhere... dicks, ems, zumiez, eastern boarder, any local skate shop.

As for wear and teat on jeans... its not bad at all. Youre not sliding and grinding your knees into your tank... its just when you need a little insurance in a turn or want to relax your hands and arms...

personally i would prefer my knees to have a nice slidey freedom of movement when hanging off in the twisties. the knee and weight shifting can help you a lot and even get you out of a few "scrapes".
i would not like my knees to be velcroed to the tank!

How sticky is the adhesive? Duct tape level?

I'd like to play around with the stuff, but not if removal is a PITA.

Sticky, but not as sticky as duct-tape. It'll peel right off, if it's on for over 6 months, you may need to use a hair-dryer and a little go-gone... but it's pretty easy to remove.
