    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

    Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

    So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have a local dealer that I would like to buy from. I did buy my helmet from them because I needed to check the fit. They are 15 minutes from my house and they have a very knowledgeable parts lady. Now for the bad news. They wanted to charge $13.68 for each valve shim. I only needed 2. The valve cover gasket was $34 without the half moons and they would have to order the shims and the gasket. Their standard lead time on a special order is 10 business days. :mad:

Friday evening, I ordered the parts from Z1 to be shipped Priority mail. My paypal payment is time-stamped 9:04PM CDT. I received a shipping notice on Saturday and the parts showed up in the mail today (Monday) Their prompt handling of the order is very appreciated.
Z1 charged $5.28 each for the shims, $8.80 for the gasket and $15.33 for the valve depressing tool. Shipping was $6.00.

Best of all I'll be able to ride tomorrow :D
 
+1...I was over to Z1 today for some Jets and dealt with Chris, Another stand up guy! I had a chance to talk to Rob today as well to thank him for letting me bring my tank in last time to dry fit a petcock..Awesome business to deal with!!

They are the first place I look when its time to maintain the GS1100. Their prices are usually the best, and they have quick turn around.

I often check other places, but seem to always come back to Z1.
