A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am thinking of buying an 83 GS1100SD Katana because Ive always wanted one & I found a decent one. It has a supposedly 1394 11.5-1 motor in it with unknown cams & head work. The owner bought it off a buddy 2 years ago and now is into harleys, he doesnt know specifics on the motor. My question is will this thing hold up under occasional weekend use or get too hot ? It does have an APE big block on it. I have several friends that ride them in S Fla with oil coolers on them so Id think Id be Ok in Montana but wanted to check with the experts. Its priced at $1500 so I cant get hurt too bad. Ive been looking for one since they first came out but couldnt afford one when it was new.

If you aren't going to buy it PLEASE let me know where it is so I can go get it! I build 1400cc GS motors for the street & have NO problems making them live if certain things are done. Get the bike & I will help you make a motor that will live & be a BLAST to ride! Call me at 714-356-7845 if you have any questions. I had a 1400cc 82 1100E as a daily driver in Hawaii for more than 2 years. Even stop & go traffic isn't bad if you do a few things to make it right. Let me know if I can help. Ray.

Ill sure do that. Im leaving today on an Alaska cruise and Ill pick it up when I get back after next Sunday night. Thanks for the advise. I was going to buy it anyway even if I had to swap the motor in it just to get the Katana.
