DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

so I know for a fact that I've got leaky spark plug wires. ive felt it in my fingers on a few of my wires but I'm not sure if its all of them. I'd like to avoid buying new wires because I dont think I can get just new wires I would have to get new coils too. right?

so my question is, is there a way to wrap or seal the wires a bit better? lots of electrical tape? some sort of special wrap? do they make that? lol I'm trying to be ingenuitive here

Give them a good clean along with the plugs and caps.Could be a bit of extra resistance from a duff/dirty cap or worn plugs. If the centre electrode has rounded off the earth electrode can be bent up far enough to file the centr electrode back to square then reset the gap.Use a bit of wd40 or similar and a clean rag to wipe leads clean then start it up in the dark, if it looks like a mini lightening storm the will need replacing provided caps and plugs have been eliminated as the fault

you do not have to get new coils, ive replaced the wires before, you can get them from z1enterprises.com, you cut them in half, cut the hard epoxy off from the coil (dont cut the wire) have a friend hold the coil, and you pull on the wire, you may have some left overs to pull out, ive used a wood screw (just dont go to far so you dont dig in to the coil). clean any residue and degrease the wire and coil, coat the wire with a thin coat of black silicone (someone may suggest something else as adhesive) and push the wire back in the coil, double check that it is fully pushed in!!!!!!!!!!!! (i marked my for this step)
let it sit, and you got new wires in the coils ;)
p.s. i think im gonna do a write up on this as i dont think this is on Bikecliffs website
