A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Leaky T connection?

I am still going though my 79 GS550, and had the carbs mega dipped at a Harley dealer that my buddy works at, so I know these cards are clean as a whistle.

I got them all back together, made sure floats were perfectly adjusted and all that, but now it is leaking out of the T connector that the fuel line plugs into. The gas leaks out the side where it plugs into carb 3.

The connector is also pretty loose. I did have another one, but that one was loose in the bodies as well, and I even had some other carb bodies that are exactly the same, which it also fit loosely in. It isnt nearly as snug as the straight connectors on the other carbs.

Will I need another connector? Anybody know where I can get one?

Thanks for any help!!

Let it leak a bit, the fuel may swell the rubber seal and it may stop leaking.
Do it outside so your house doesn't explode!

Z1 sells replacements that use orings instead of the rubber. But unfortunately they're currently out of stock...

Is there a website for ZI? I would like to see if they are getting any again soon. That would be an awesome fix.

That site has a lot of good stuff! I don't see this connector though. All I can see are the ones that go in the fuel line itself, rather than the one the goes between carbs 2+3. Am I missing it? I was on the GS550 area under carbs.

Got this squared away and the bike FINALLY runs like a DREAM!

Going to be getting tires and all that soon, and even have a sidecar I am throwing together to put on there. Ill try to post pics when its all said and done!
