I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Looking for advice on small fairing or windshield for 82 GS1100E

I use a Slipstreamer Spitfire on a 250 I ride:it's small but aero designed to block the wind-blast and slice through the wind efficiently, making it easier on the engine to ride into the wind on a small cc bike.I usually tuck-down behind it in headwinds,I'm just use to doing that.

I went for a ride and I like it. I can run 80 on the freeway and get get blown off . Not as much wind protection as a jammer but I think it is better than my BMW.
I ended up moving it back about 2" from the front of the headlight so it would fit the headlight better. but it does what I wanted and it looks good. Not as good as naked but much more rideable for this old man.

I had a cheap Emgo on mine that worked well and imo looked good

I think your Emgo looks great but I could not find on that fit th 8" headlight. Also I don't think it would have given me the wind protection I was looking for.

Your 1.0 springs will be fine with the Street EX.

I have 1.1 springs in my 850 and my fairing weighs less than your ‘Jammer.

I do think my gravitational attraction is a bit more than yours, but your springs will be fine.

What viscosity oil are you using? I recommend 10w.

.

Good to know about the springs. Thank you.

I'm using 10w fork oil.

I have been looking for a design that I thought would be worthwhile to 3D print in ABS. e. I still haven't seen a custom that would be worth the time. I have been playing with it in Fusion 360 off and on for over a year. I keep thinking someone is going to post a pic of an old obscure out of production killer fairing one day, I still haven't found it. It is pretty easy to open the headlight opening especially if you can fine one of the old NOS fiberglass quarter fairings that were popular in the late 70's and 80's. Someone said Ducati, look at the 2008 Ducati Monster S2R 1000 fairing. If you dig around you can probably find one used. I have never installed one on a GS1100, but it is the one I have been thinking about buying and fitting it to one of my 82 1100E's.
