A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How's everybody tonight? My son has picked a color for his bike and I was wondering Is there a reference online for suzuki paint codes and the color with it? Right now we aren't sure what color bike is, since front fender is black with gold pinstripe and tank was a burgundy color with gold badges. He is wanting a blue, and wants to stick with factory colors. I would post a pic but for some reason it won't upload.

Ok I'll give that a look. And I think I figured out how to upload.

Most parts fiches such as bikebandit.com have color charts on there. Once you know the Suzuki code, then try a place called colorite. Also if you have a part with the color you want...from a car or another bike..your local auto paint supply can scan it and get you a match and mix it right on the spot.

81 gs1000gx the color he likes I'm assuming is on the rear cover behind the seat he ordered from ebay, and i dont have a picture of it yet.

sounds like 10U marble indigo blue off an 850G. I'd have to see it to be sure.

Paint scanners

Paint scanners

Just a caution regarding paint color code scanners. They don't work nearly as well as most people expect that they will. They are almost completely useless on surfaces which are pebbled or textured. A clear coat over the paint can affect the ability to obtain an accurate scan.

Not intending to "dis" the suggestion as it is a useful one, but simply cautioning that results are often not as useful as one might hope.

You should always polish the scan surface well with some rubbing compound to get it as clean and smooth as possible too.

Any paint supply house worth their floor space will only use the computer match as a starting point, after that the color is blended based on comparison to the standard. Of course, some color guys are better than others so you might want to talk to some body shops in your area to find the best supply house.
