A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone using these I got one on order.
I had Bridgestone battleax installed but have had three of these develop sidewall cracking.

I know a V rated tire is overkill but is there any major issue in mixing them fore and aft?

Not able to answer your query, but surprised by your statement!

I run the Bridgestone Battleax on my GS 750 and was running on the XJ 600.
Have never had that problem.
One front per year and two rears per year.

Curious if you have a slow leak in front or something?
I know it gets cold up there but I have ridden year round with regards only to snow on roads and none towards temps.

Can't help you with you query either but I run the BT-45's. No problem with cracking but I should replace my front tire too because it's so ugly.

Vintage tread design, more modern compound. derwood use to swear by them on his 1150.

They've served me well so far even when pushed a bit. If my front were any wider, it might not look so bad. I'll try the RoadRiders or Sport Demons next time though.

I think bluewool is referring to the Metzeler Lasertec.
Witch are you referring to Missile99?
And possible the better advice would come from someone within the same temps year round JeepRusty?

I was referring to the BT-45's but I believe you're right about bluewool. The Metzelers do have a retro look now that I see them again. My front BT-45 looks old school but the back one looks modern. WTH?

I've used BT-45's before and didn't have any trouble, but I've also read a fair number of posts from people reporting cupping problems.

Regarding those Metzelers, I helped a member install a set on his 850 but the service life was surprisingly short. Can't recommend them based on that but too late now...
