DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know the OD on the airbox side of BS32SS and BS34SS carbs. I'm looking for a set of airbox boots with 50mm ID to adapt to a GS1000 airbox.

Hi Mr. 49er,

The information you seek may be in a manual available here on the Mikuni website. Or you can download a BS32SS manual from here.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hi Mr. FaithClout

Thank you for those links. I could'nt find the answer at either site.
I do need someone to measure the inlet and outlet of both model carbs so I can match up some boots to a set of VM29SS flatslides at a later date.

I don't particularly enjoy seeing my IP, system version and the accompaning message eveytime you post a response on this site!!
We have one thing in common. I'll never win a prize for tact either.

I can measure that on the 32s for you, i have a set sitting in my basement...give me a few and ill let you know!

Looks to be on the BS32SS set, OD of 52.97mm or 2.075 inches...

Mr. 49er,

Please forgive my typo in the previous post. It was just a typo. Your IP address is displayed only to you. (When I see that graphic, I see my IP address). It's part of the information that must be exchanged between two computers before they can transmit and receive information. It's not really a secret and it's totally harmless. There are many things in this forum that I don't enjoy seeing. But such is life.

Thank you for your indulgence,

I suspected that you made a typo. I also realise that computers do comunicate in this manner and that no one else reads this information. Please do us a favour and remove your danasoft .com message. On this matter, my patience is not being indulged.

No prob...you thought maybe the VM26 boots may be the right size? I can get a measurement on those for you tomorrow, its pouring rain and dark here right now...hehe..

I've got an old set of VM26SS boots which I had measured and they're smaller that 50mm. Thanks for the offer though.

Mr. 49er,

May I suggest that you add me to your "Ignore" list? That way you will never have to see any of my posts.

Interesting .... someone tries to help and you start out insulting them.... well, good luck on your carbs, I could help but I won't on this one.

49er,
I run the BS34'S. Airbox side of carb measures 55mm OD. (though 54 mm emgo filters fit.) engine side of carb is 42mm OD. hope the Info is useful.

As for the religious reight. Don't let them get you down. I do not believe the things that BassCliff, and Shwiess believe. But it is a beautiful thing about our country, that we are all allowed our own opinions. I also find the danasoft message repulsive. But it is BassCliff's right to post it. Interestingly enough his posts contain enough substantial material that I can ignore our differances and focus on what we have in common. The love of the GS. Also especially with tech Q's, more flies are caught with honey than vinegar.

Thanks for the info on the BS34 specs and your balanced view to the religous flags. I agree that it is healthy for people to be able to express their religoius/any beliefs in general. I do however believe that the GS technical forum is not a place where this should be happening. I too have religous convictions, but I don't go ramming them down others throats at every opportunity.
Mr. BassCliff does produce some interesting comments and reliable information for which I applaud him. As for adding him to my "Ignore list", I don't indulge in such pettiness. I don't use this tool and never will.
