A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I bought four of these relays cheaper than I could buy one locally.
I received them exactly two weeks from the purchase date.
The quality seems very solid and the pin layout is standard.
Pins are as follows, 30, 85, 86, 87, 87a.

Here's the eBay link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/220969468069

The Bosch-style relay is a standard. Be sure and carry a spare or two, as I have had one of those blow up on me and leave me on the side of the road until I replaced it.
Not that it matters, but that is actually a 30A relay through terminal 87, the one we normally use. It is 40A through terminal 87a, which is seldom used.

Wow, I just bought four more of these relays and received them in 8 days.
That's fast coming from China. And so far, this seller does everything right.

Could have bought them from Parts Express and had them in less than half the time. :D

Yeah, they probably came from China, too, but they are already sitting in a warehouse in oHIo, so they are MUCH closer.

Click on the link above, you will see a selection of capacities and can even find one that is waterproof.

You can also find single, double and stackable sockets, as well as a socket with a diode to prevent kickback when the relay is opened.

.

I can get them even quicker than that, some times.

They are about 10 minutes from my house. :D

Now, if only I were only 10 minutes from my house.

.

I picked up 2 used relays from the auto scrap yard (Pick Yer Part) last week and they charged me $3.99 each.:o Good deal from China, if ya can wait,,..
