A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Morgan Carbtune vs mercury type?

Ive been researching carb synch threads. Mine have never been done and i am planning to do it soon ( synch tool for fathers day!). The Morgan seems to be the preferred tool, at least over the new non mercury fluid type balancers, BUT there is a new unused Motion Pro mercury type at a local shop. Money wise its only a 10 dollar difference. Will the Motion Pro require calibration and such? which will be simpler to set up and use? Thanks for any insight.

Carbtune...can't suck in the mercury when you rev the engine with that one.

No equalization needed either, just hook it up & go...

I have had both. It's a no brainer. The Morgan wins hands down. When I got my Morgan, I threw away the motion pro.

The only complaint that I have against the Motion Pro mercury unit is that the lid to the reservoir is far too easy to dislodge accidentally.
If you have the opportunity to get a Carbtune for only $10 more, DO IT.

Any mercury-based unit that you buy will NEVER need calibration. In fact, mercury is the standard by which all the others are judged.

The Morgan Carbtune is just as accurate and apparently does not need calibration, either. It has no (hazardous) fluids to spill and is rather robust in its construction.

If I ever damage my mercury sticks, I will get a Morgan Carbtune. In the meantime, I'm simply too cheap to spring for one. :-\\\

This, haven't pulled the mecury sticks out of the box since the Morgan arrived.
