    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Billy, I admire your mechanical ability, knowledge and ambitions. However, on your first Texas GS group ride after all the work is completed, please be careful not to bruise to many GS1100/1150 egos! :twisted: ........especially watch out for that Beaumont "thongman", Hap "I-be-fastest" Call! :wink: :lol:

BTW, you'll love the twisties if you ever do make it up this way. :D :D :D

I plan to Simon. I've driven most parts of the four corners states at one time or another. Never on the bike though. Pretty soon I'll be back in the San Antonio area so that puts me 4 hours and 250 or more miles closer. I think I'd truck the bike through Texas then find somewhere to leave it and take off on the bike. For now I'm beginning to think I'll install the crank and rods and leave the topend as it is. I'll get another gasket set and do the full build later. 50 extra cc and a little more compression should wake it up nicely. It already has more power than the clutch can handle. That's got to be taken care of when the crank goes in.

I see you have a 3000GT. A month or so ago I had to drive a Stealth back from Atlanta for my nephew and his wife. Mitsubishi really put a good effort into those cars. They are almost certain to be classics if they are kept in good shape.

One day you and Claude will get to show me your favorite roads. Maybe one or two of these other Texas guys will make the run too.

Yup, the 3000GT has a good "build quality".....much higher than the Camaro and Trans Am we had before (but then these GM cars were more affordable). We've got about 110,000 miles on the Mitsubishi but about 70,000 was done on interstate trips to Illinois and back from Colorado. In fact, we used the 3000 last month to do 3,100 miles in 5 days for a trip back east.

As far as preservation goes, the dryness of the Colorado climate means no rust. :D The mechanicals appear to be in good shape but I am not looking forward to the 120,000-mile change of the timing belt (will also get water pump, idler pulley etc. done at the same time as a precautionary measure). :cry:
