A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So I just got the carbs deep cleaned and for one I have fuel to the bowls but when I try to start the bike fuel comes out the air jets and I mean it comes spewing it it's not a drop it's a constant squirt

I think we need to see pictures of the carbs, and know which bike you have.

Seems like the floats are not shutting off the needle valve for some reason....

Explain "deep clean" ..... and if replaced all the o-rings.

For everyone elses info
Hi my name is carlin i own a 1982 gs 1100 gk. I picked it up from a guy that was builing a bobber amd kept all the stuff for the. Gk model that it was originally. I just wamt it to run so me and my brother can ride together.

Carlin,
WOuld help us all if you put the model name in your signature line.
Goto Settings", "Edit Signature"

So should i do a rebuild kit. And. Deep clean as in. Took everything. Apart. Bowls off jets off. Ran through a parts washer for 2 minutes amd sprays all the little passage with. Carb spray the. Air then. Re washed everything

Not to be too harsh here man but, you should step away from your bike and spend at least a couple of weeks reading forum posts about these machines. Also, read the factory/Haynes/Clymer manuals for the '82 1100. Then start asking questions regarding the particulars of your bike which you need clarifying. Item 1 - carb cleaning - this is important, and what you have done to this point isn't close to being sufficient.

What should i read. Amd what would you consider. Sufficent. For. Cleaning the carbs

Where would you guys recommend buying a rebuild kit. That has everythimg

Don't buy a rebuild kit; they are worthless and will not contain everything you need plus you'll pay 4 times the cost of what you need. Get the orings from cycleorings.com and the bowl gasket from your dealer like we said

Ok so i ordered the oring. Kit. Where do i find the. Vemt caps

You dont cap vents. A vacuum line comes off each one, over the top of the airbox ( if stock one is there) and down between the engine and swingarm. Carbs need vented to operate correctly.

Thank you so much everybody i spent all weekend taking the carbs apart and i got it started but it doesn't run without the choke on now thats what im working on
