    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My fuses crumbled, what sizes are they?

1980 GS 750E, taking the fuses out to clean the connections. The fuses all fell apart, they all say 12v on the end caps but have no amperage rating.
Anyone know what size fuses go where?

They are all 10 amp except for the main, its 15 amp.

LOL. Reminds me of when one of my fuses vibrated itself to death on the way to work. My boss's boss stopped to ask me if I needed a ride. After that, I replaced them all just to be safe.
 
ok guys this is going to sound bad. I have a GS1000G Can't get t going yet. My fuses connections and fuses were bad. I got a magnifying glass out to see what they were, but I was wrong. I put in 15,10,10,15,25. I know your thinging dumb ass,and your right. After cleaning it up I tried it and my bike turned over but my fuse box started to SMOKE. So I shut it down, found the right line up. It worked off and on and I had spark at the plugs. I think I have a bad ground somewhere. Anybody out there Think I damaged anything? Another reason it could have been smoking was I didn't have it grounded right.
 
The fuse box is notorious for having corroded connections, which shows up as heat because of high resistance. You probably didn't damage anything. But you need to clean the fuse holders and clean and solder the connectors on the rear of the box. This will save you a ton of trouble in the future.
 
Jim that is exactly what was needed to fix my problem. And you were right nothing was damaged.
