A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Here is my '81 GS450T in original stock trim

Here it is with a spitfire windscreen

Here it is after a quick bath with a 'L' model seat I added for better comfort. I'd like to add the grab bar or better yet a plain luggage rack. It doesn't really match the 'T' side panels but it is much more comfortable than original seat. I've kept the original so it can be switched back easily.

Low miles!

Nice one Kevin, although you should know by now I'm a sucker for twins...

The L seat is definitely a little odd there, but there is definitely something to be said for comfort.

I gotta ask. Was it a simple bolt on or little modification? I'd rather have the flatter "T" seat than the "L" seat.

It's almost a direct swap but the 'L' seat pan had a metal tab on the front that is wider than the 'T' plastic tab. I had to trim the tab to fit the front but going your way from L to T you shouldn't have to do anything. I know it looks a little out of place on my bike but so far I like the comfort a lot better. For just buzzing around town the original seat was fine but for anything over 80-100 miles it was uncomfortable.

I'm near Rochester. I was just in St Cloud to visit friends but not with the bike. Beautiful area up there. If you ever get down this way let me know and I'll fire up the BBQ

Interesting... I'm gonna have to find me an '81 GS450T seat. Thanks for the pictures!

Snap, we have the same bike! I hope to get mine looking as nice as yours..

What? A 450T in Aus? No way! I thought we only got the E's and S' here, never ever seen or heard of a L or T over here... must be rare as hen's teeth!

I would kill to have the flatter seat. The L seat is too relaxed to be completely comfortable and I feel like I'm always adjusting forward to reach the bars better, and I have monkey arms.
