well spotted Dink.

FE wagon, runs a 308 injected, T700R4, 9inch 3.25 LSD.

but it feels slow compared to the bike.

especially now the 38's are jetted up.

Cheers

Ed

that bike looks mean!!

just get rid of those mirrors... try some smaller ones...

Very nice mate. Nice and aggressive looking 'fighter you've got there. What kind of headlights are you using?

Likes it.

Did those tank emblems come on it down under or did you stick them on from a different bike? If so, what kind.
Ive been thinking about using emblems instead of stickers when I do my re-paint.
Seeing your bike with them pretty much seals it.

Good job.

Hey brv,

those mirrors are awful aren't they?
i was trying to contain costs (this has been a relatively low buck build), so i just used what i had to get it on the road. i have some nice bar end mirrors on the wish list.. in addition the purple/blue wheel must be painted or powdercoated!

the headlights are from a guy in the US called Aztec8. he advertises on that online auction site. they are twin diamond reflector 5 3/4" lights. on hi bean they have a blu light in the housing which lights up too.

Mike, the badges were on it when i got the bike. the bike had been restored but it was showing its age and he fact the resto replied on "good" 2nd hand parts. these parts failing led me to "fighter" it.

i'm especially grateful to the research posted here and the knowledge shared. I don't want to put names down in case i miss anybody BUT...
i have read and taken on board the colelctive wisdom of Katman, Dink, Keith etc to name a very small few... enjoyed the racing tilt put on things by Racing Jake.

In addition there were links posted here.. one was the GSX winter build up, and Swanny's build.

i have spent many hours reading here!

thanks again, will keep posting updates and share where possible

.. now.. off to try 155 mains to richen up the 38's a touch....

Cheers

Ed

Nice build you got going there.

Got a couple questions for you.

Are you using a Busa rear caliper with the gsxr1100 armless mount? And are you using an offset sprocket or using spacers to get the chain to clear the tire?

Thanks

Chef, you really like the blue rim??

i was actually going to quickly get it powdered dark grey.. lol I'm not too keen on it, but from the pics it does match the body colour I guess.

Duro,

it's a Busa caliper on a GSXR1100 (K model) mount. it has a torque arm.
which is also off the Busa. I had a mount welded on since i dont have access to a TIG.

the tyre clears (just) using the GSX sprocket carrier.
front sprocket is an AFAM offset sprocket.

hope this helps

Thanks mate, that does help.

Last one for you. How large a rear rotor is that? 220 or 240 mm? I'm having some issues due to a setup that i bought that was cobbled together, and i'm trying to sort that out.

Cheers

Druro,

it's a Busa caliper, not sure of diameter, a quick google should bring it up tho.

Chef,

thanks, blu is my fave colour too... havent decided on a colour scheme as yet, this one will do for now.

I was reading your sig. did you need special valve springs to run the .340 cams?

Cheers

Ed

No, they were drop in cams. I just switched to the heavy duty Ape valve springs because my friend had a head with them available.
If you get the .348 lift cams you have to grind the oil bump off the lifters.

thanks Chef,
am about to buy some Web cams
WGS348 (168) after reading katmans story im not so sure now.

Cheers
