If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

and with the head swap, you won't have to worry as much with blowing the motor as you would with NOS

Actually I would not be afraid of No2 blowing up the motor. I have always said Nitrous does not blow up motors the guy tuning the nitrous blows up the motor.

image.jpgI figured I would post up some updates. Been to a couple outings now. the bike is working great deadly consistent 5.90 I put an MSD adjustable rpm module on it set to 10,200rpm to slow it down to 5.90. I just sux. I had trouble with my trees going from .006 to .060 got me a practice tree and got lots of practice put me into nice consistent .010. Then at the last race in Orlando i did not trust my bike to not break out and gave it one little bap 5.92 to the trailer I go I got down to the last 9 bikes out of about 80

I used the same method and got within 5 lbs of the weight that Cycleworld measured for the same bike. Considering I ditched about 5 lbs of stuff from the bike I have no reason to believe the bathroom scale method does not work.
If you have two scales and the two tires are on it and bike is balanced not on a kick stand it will be as accurate as the scales.
on other hand sounds like OP lifted each wheel to put it on a scale while leaving the other wheel on the ground. That obviously shifts weight to the tire on the ground underestimating the weight. If you get a two by four or something the same height as the scale it will be close but requires a level surface.

good update - glad that your race bike is operating as it should, that is a good feeling. which brand practice tree did you get?

I used to have a biondo tree, didn't help me any....

I just installed yesterday a Biondo Little Wizard crossover delay box with a practice tree built in it. Which i really like. I did not have a crossover box before and it sucked doing the math in the staging lanes when you run a slower bike. A practice tree is more for getting your trees more consistent when leaving off the button. Then you adjust you delay box to cut the .01's and .00's. These guys I am racing with keep you on your toes I lost with a .011 light and ran a 5.92 on a 5.90 dial in. I gave it on little bap and ran .02 off. My fault

Trip
I bought a cheep $50 Proform Perfect/Launch practice tree off eBay. It is not that bad. It feels cheep but it works. And it helped me with getting my trees more consistent.

Damn. That's fast!!

surprised myself with a 5.819 last weekend - yeah had a 5.82 on as dial when I did - best it did before was 5.824 for weeks. I really got out of the beams that pass. (and increased the rear tire pressure 0.2 psi)

Nice looking drag bike.

When I look at the front wheel and see six spokes, I would be very tempted to cut out three of them and balance the wheel and tire. I would also look for a smaller diameter and thinner front disc and caliper to take out some more weight.

Drag strips are similar to runways as there aren't any pot holes or curbs to scrub so taking weight out of the wheel would save a pound and likely (a guess) not detract significantly from it's purpose as it's not on the street.

The wheel is a casting and in Airplane Drawing Classes they said, no castings and no weldments. What they meant was, when you're designing with tax payer dollars. I can show you thirty or more castings used in helicopters like Bell 206's and Hughes/ MD 500's.

When I raced I could get a Grammy Award because I could always find places to take out a gram here and a gram there. But I still eat pizza and drank wine....

As a former aerospace mechanical engineer, I know that there are dozens or even hundreds of castings used in commercial aircraft. It depends on the application.

Weldments are frowned upon, but the FAA does allow them.
