I love little bikes, they are just completely impractical for me!

That Puch needs clubmans, and a 1/4 fairing! IMO.

If it were mine and most of the clean, hard to find parts, weren't already there (albeit in boxes) I would have had some fun with it. As it is...
it will be a very nice example of a 1981 Magnum II, and may only see 50-100 miles per year.

Garrett will ride it I'm sure, but likely, only on a weekend or two...:-\\\

Wow, that is looking brand spanking new!! I never thought I would see one in that condition. I can understand about the decals and set up costs. I have been that route myself with specialty decals for my business. They are fun little machines. I used to take it everywhere. On road and off. Didn't matter. Not alot of moxie but enough to have alot of fun. Keep on hanging the parts. Wish I was local so I could hear it run. Boy, talk about a walk down memory lane. I have to pass on the old running joke that I used to hear all the time when I had my Puch. It went.... "What is the sound that is made when a moped gets hit by a car......"puch"! I know... sick but kinda funny.... Good luck with her and maybe you can post a vid on Youtube of it running and driving. Ride safe!

Well, well, another PUCH owner (former or otherwise)

I have the finished photos on the wifes' camera and will get them up when I get a chance. It really does look new. I'm a little surprised at how it all came together, not having seen one prior to this little beast. As far as how it runs... I had a good friend (Arne...two stroke god) rebuild the engine a 2 years + ago and there is a Youtube video of him starting and riding the thing. I'll do some digging and see if I can get that up. Then I'll make a finished video (if I can figure out how) and post that as well.

It has been a fun little project but it will be awhile before I elect to do another frame off restoration for anyone other than myself. Really just takes too much time to do it right. Maybe I'm just slowing in my old age...

I should explain a little further. I got the bike in pieces and put most of it back together (sans engine) and then sent it off to Arne to do the rebuild. This little project started out as "just get it running". As many of these things go, it turned into a "well it runs great, now can we make it look great", type of deals.

The little thing is fun to ride. Could use a little more ZIPPPP, for me.

All in all...a fun project but I have to admidt to being happy it's done.

Looks sweet, I knew the bike because the Seattle Chapter of the Moped Army meets every Monday at the cafe/bar I manage. There are a couple of Magnums, but they are pretty rare. There is a race series for mopeds out here too. It is pretty amazing what some of the guys(and gals) do to their bikes, including water-cooled heads and disk brakes capable of making the bike do a stoppy. I still prefer my GS1000 though
