A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hi Kay,
i ended up making my own foot peg brackets, sidecovers, seat section, dummy light panel, rear section and probably afew other things here and there. i got a duel tach/sppedo of a 1968 t 250 cc suzuki. the bike came with almost none of these parts- or they were so ugly i didn' t want them! so out came the pieces of aluminum, jig saw, hack saw, grinder, determination , grit, imagination, sandpaper and polishing compound and wheel. IF i can figure out this SUPPOSEDLY EASY SHARE KODAK CAMERA (yeah right) i'll post pics. i can take pics with it but just can't get the pics on my puter... :x

the parts are no where s near perfect. just different. and i know damn well no one else has a bike like mine. (lucky for them sometimes!!)

just got back from a long ride tonite. it was sssooo nice. 65 and sunny!

Now I'm really impressed. As far as the camera, if you can build all those parts, I know you can figure it out. It took me a while to figure out my Mavica, but because it burns the pics to cd, I just pop them out of the camera and into the puter. I am a lazy digital photographer. Want it as simple as I can get it. LOL I am sooooooooooooo jealous. You got to go for a ride, and all I get to do is to warm it up, still sitting in the shed. I'm going through major bike withdrawal here. LOL Take another long ride for me would ya!!!

GS750 "79 Name is LUCE after Lucy, the family mongrel dog.

Reason:

The bike has GS850 forks, Wiseco pistons, had a Kawasaki seat and for some bizarre administrative reason, was (and still is), licensed as a trailer. It has now been transformed into a really disugustingly beautiful rat bike which enhances the mongrel status.

Rob

as follows.

82 V45 Sabre "Lumpy"(the new pony in the stable) my first honda.
79 GS850G "Thing"(has yet to move under it's own power)
82 GS650E "Bumble Bee"(buzzing sound at top gear) given away

I've only had the bike for a short time and it's name yet to come. Wednesday and Thursday it was *%*#%@ while I was attempting to easy-out two exhaust bolts out of the head. One of my students called it a monster that may end up the name.

GS Names

GS Names

My college buddies came up with a fairly creative name for my 78 GS1000. The first day I rode it to school they saw it in the parking lot didn't know it was mine and said "hey, look at the relic." The name stuck. Its a fitting name because the next oldest bike in our group was a 1990 ZX11, followed by a 91 GS500, and then a 1998 Superhawk. If you read elsewhere's in GS Stories you will know that The Relic is dead. I will be building another 78 and I'll probably give it the cheeseball name "Relic 2."

Same here man :) Mine has been called "Relic" by a few friends for the
same reason and also "The Beast".
One friend always referred to it as "A Blast From The Past"
I myself haven't named it.

Unless my brand new (to me) 1982 GS450T reveals its true name to me sometime soon, I'm going to call it the Rainmaker.

The day I bought it and brought it home in the back of my wife's truck it rained. The following weekend I rode it to the shop for tires and a state safety inspection and it rained. Went to pick it up 5 days later and rode it home in the rain. Took it out for a short ride and to fill the gas tank a couple days later and it rained. And guess what? It's raining now.

I'm going to have to take another MSF course just so I can ride on dry pavement I guess.
