A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Need to replace my front brake hose(82' GS450TXZ),best deal ?

I will be replacing my original oem Suzuki front brake hose,it measures roughly 38".
Who has the best deal for a new hose? SS with plastic coating might be good but not essential.
I want another hose that will last for years.
Do the cheaper SS braided hose brands online still have decent quality for the $ ?

Suzuki wrote in the service manual to replace them every 2 years but to be honest, since I installed the stainless steel ones 9 years ago, I haven't touched them since. There are dozens of threads asking about this - look for the one by Nessism where he details how to build your own using hose material from Earls. It is somewhat easy to do (my rear is made with theirs) but I had problems making my front lines. You can also get lines from Z1 Enterprises or a few others around the web

no reason or excuse really to not go ss. threads abound with info/sources, try rennsport,z1, etc or make your own.

I found Venhill very nice to deal with and got a new SS brake hose w/fittings for around $50, quick too. Quality seem good to me but have no other experience to compare.

I was able to do a three piece front and single piece rear setup myself by following the Earls Brakeline thread instructions for under $100. The quality of their products is a known quantity (unlike ebay SS lines) and cutting it to length myself allowed for a perfect fit.

My 82 450txz has the cheapest line I could find on eBay, don't think I paid more than $20 for it, that was 16,000 miles ago.
