A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

One of my carbs has a float post that was JB welded. Rather than repairing it by machining it off completely, drilling a new hole and making and inserting a new post, I was thinking to replace the carbs. I will post a thread in the wanted section but not sure everyone will see it and I will have some questions while sourcing the carbs anyway. For example, what model years can i be looking for for my '81 GS750E?....only 1981 or are other model years the same? I see some on eBay but they don't look so great and I trust guys on this forum more than eBay strangers. Does anyone have a set of carbs or know where I can source some?...Is there a GS carb guru on this forum who can lead me to the promised land?

80/81/82 GS750E/L/T that I know for sure, on the 82, you would have to change out the choke linkage.

2 things

1. Post your request in the Parts Wanted forum
2. Tell us which carb body you need. You only need to replace the damaged one

In my original post I did mention that I would also start another thread in the "wanted" section... which I did... but to me it seems that that section is read by mostly people who want something... not have something that someone else wants ...so that's why I posted it here and there. Its carb 1 but what is the likelihood that someone with carbs would sell just the one body?... definitely consider it if someone would split up a set but as the carbs need to be cleaned and rebuilt anyways I thought there might be some other things that come up so a whole set for the right price is also a possibility. if anyone has carb body 1 I'm all ears.

Check with Steve or Chef. They both rebuild carbs and have parts on hand

Quite a few members have excess parts.

Thanks Big T....not sure how to contact Steve or Chef...was hoping that someone with the parts available would see my post...
