A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

New 7" headlight and wiring bit of loom for it

ukjules

Forum Sage
I have asked this question before and as I am now only on mobile ver of this site i can't find the answer. It would have helped. I am happy to be called lazy but other mechanics on other bikes is cracking me and the forum is called to.help...... coffee and beer has not helped .

Anyway. GSX250e 1980 headlight sealed unit one , high and low beam and window for sidelight bulb.
Low beam gone
(No sidelight wiring I have just noticed so not attached )

So

I want a new 7" headlight - not sealed unit
(https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/bike-it-7-inch-headlight-unit-381432/)
Like this but need the loom bit for the new sealed unit one? And being the poorest of members I have to be frugal.
Like a rubber bung thing and attachment for bulbs .... That then attach to my wiring Inc the new sidelight but.

Yes I can be accused of laziness but I can't find the loom bit for sale anywhere. I can't jam a h4 bulb into a vacant space ....

Anyhow that is what I need ? ,
Oh and I don't want a sealed unit one as it doesn't make sense to me.
(Take into account I am the worst at electrics being red green colour blind but getting better. I can remake any terminal to bullet connectors or whatever and am now handy tracing wires to find what does what buy turning on and using switches)

Note this is all I have . Just for high and low beam

That unit should do fine, it should come with a mount for an H4 bulb, and hopefully a rubber boot for the back of it (to cover the bulb end).
Your existing bulb connector will push straight on to the H4 prongs.
Righty ho - one caveat - not all Japanese 7" headlights are the same. There's a very high probability it will fit your shell, but you might need to get another piece to nest it in place, or maybe not. I can't say for sure with yours, I've had to pyss about doing stuff like that in the past, but always got a working light at the end of the day, which is when you really need it.

Demon tweaks did email back and sent me the reverse of the headlight !

In my blundering email this is what i need with a light ........
