A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

jealous on two counts -
Maine.
Bike.
That order.
Not KY tho. (No offense)
None taken .. I was born and raised in the same area in Kentucky, so I like it. Most everyplace is good for someone.

I thought New Hampshire was very nice too.

If she had to move far away, I am glad that my sis moved up here (Maine) so that I have a nice place to visit.

Update .. (sorry no new pics) aside from a very pleasant visit with my sis and her family, I met emjay for drinks and dinner.

Went to a waterfront place in South Portland so I could soak in some foggy views of the harbor as we got to talk bikes. Cool guy and I appreciated his hospitality.

Plan is to leave at first break in the precipitation (or after breakfast whichever comes first) on Saturday.

Hope to make mid Pennsylvania at least on the first leg. Finish up on Sunday ...

Back to work on Monday morning :-|

Jeebuz, another epic day for your ride towards home man! It's bluebird out there. Safe journey!

What a beautiful day to ride ..

Thanks .. I only made it to Danbury because I got a later start than originally planned. I averaged about 40 miles per hour today including stops. Should make better time on less crowded roads tomorrow.

Head out again early Sunday morning and hope to finish up the trip home.

Here are a few shots from Cape Elizabeth this afternoon just before I left.

I lowered it just a little and leaned it back some. .. when I lean forward, it does help.

I have not yet developed my "road seat". Stopped in Cumberland Maryland for some rest. Ride on home this morning. Work a couple of hours this afternoon and back to the grind Tuesday.

This will also end the cheesy pics :-s.

Thanks everyone.

Wonderful log, no cheesy pics at all !!

And a heck of a road test

Wicked cool, I'm glad the trip went well, I thought you'd have a lot of rain- but NO!! This deal worked out so smoothly I can't believe it. And how cool that I still get to see pics of the bike on it's new adventures!

Made it home about 12:30 pm Monday.

15 hours later than the original plan, but it was fantastic.

I could have done 500 miles today .. so I will get the hang of it.

I put the rain covers on my tankbag and tailbag about an hour from home.

I would guess in the whole trip i was in maybe 15 minutes of light sprinkles.

The only exception was one downpour as I crossed (in a peasoup fog) the Casco Bay Bridge in Portland .. that happened on an explore ride, not the way home.

That wet metal grate was hands down the toughest 30 seconds of the trip.

The 1100 ran great .. can't believe the way it pulls on the hills \\:D/

Gotta shower and head to the office.

Thanks for all the comments and looking at the pics.

I am more of a GS (and GSR) fan now than ever.

Thanks .. I passed up a million shots that I wanted to stop and get, but I never would have made it home.

As far as keeping it as nice as Jethro did .. tall order ..

The only plans that I have for the bike would be pretty far out in the future as I like it very much as it looks now.

Future may bring newer wheels to allow radials.

It is not sacrilege to repaint it (the same color) now is it?
