A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Mate I know that feeling well... so satisfying when you get her finished and can roll her and go for a ride :D

Definitely looking good with that wheel!

Coming together. Put the front end together with new bearings. Still need to run the harness and make it look real clean......

Looking very nice. I must be honest and say I personally am not fond of the tail but that's a "me" problem. Clip-ons are nicely done as well. Though you may want to check on how far you've dropped the forks in the clamps. That much may make her kind of twitchy at speed. I only say this from experience. I ended up about a half inch or less drop in front and 1" over in the rear and it was a little much on my last cafe. Put the forks back to about 1/8" and kept the one inch over stock length in back and it felt very nice. Responsive, but not unruly. :)

yes, yes, and more yes... im loving the handlebars and the paint on the wheels, motor, and body panels/tank... the only thing im not a fan of is the rear seat cowling, it doesnt seem to go with the rest of the bike, thats just my opinion though... check out "VonZeti" cafe seats, i think they would look great on your bike. Overall, it gets two big thumbs up from me!

heres a link to my favorite cafe styled seat if your interested. its exactly what i got for my 450... theres a bunch of other pictures of them on actual bikes if you wanna google it.

Last time I was at the powdercoater's place he showed me a sample of that almost chrome. It looked great. I didn't think of using it on a tank but it looks really good. Any orange peel?

I used texture black on my Harley's tanks and was thinking of doing the same on my GS1100G but the petrol does stain it a little. Maybe a clear coat over the powder could be a good idea? I know that they do a powder clear over the silver for almost chrome but I wonder if it's petrol-proof?
