A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok, I've got a '79 GS750 something and not too sure how to tell. On the title, the VIN starts GS750E... or something to that effect if I remember right, but looking at pictures, the seat is all wrong on my bike, and I think there's a seat from a GS750L model as best I can tell. Do the the E and L seats fit the other bikes? Also, I've been trying to find a new choke cable for my bike, as it is froxen, and no longer moves.. tried the dealer, no lock, same thing with Dennis Kirk. Anyone know of what the changeover is for those, or where I can find it?

Thanks

Ok, so how can I tell? I'd really like some specifics so i can be sure, and if I DO have the L model, then the parts I just ordered are for the wrong damn bike.

I wouldn't trust Wrench on this, but you can trust me! :D :D :D :D :D

Yes, definately an "L".

Stuff it Ron

The "L" has the cruiser look, and the "E" has the sportier look. Your bike is an "L"

Yes, it is an L, but it would be a lot easier to see it if you resized that HUGE picture

He made the pic HUGE, because Wrench has bad eyesight. :D :D

A few more remarks like that buddy and you'll have bad eyesight too

I heard you have a 26" monitor set up at home, and you "park" your wheelchair about 18 inches in front of it in order to see.......... 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O :D :D

My mistake, I had to reduce the pic of it, in order to fit it on my screen/monitor. (made it look much smaller)

Well... I see the differences between the two, and it's for sure an L model, which I'm totally cool with, but I ordered the wrong Parts from Dennis Kirk that will be arriving tomorrow.. Damnit. I ordered a Speedo Cable and some handlebars, because the cable broke, and I bent the bars saving it from tipping over, and I got the E style bars, and after looking at those bars, I don't think it's gonna be too comfortable, nor is it gonna look right. Then again, who knows? It might be just the thing for a big guy like me. (6' 5", 235Lbs.)

I appreciate the comliments on it, but I've got a long way to go to get it really nice. Need to polish the crankcase, get emblems that are missing, etc. The previous owners had the bike painted that purple, but somehow lost the emblems for it. All part of the reason it only cost me $500. Also, I just grabbed the large image off my website, as I had it up there for a while as the POTD.

You can exchange your parts for the correct ones, this what DK has on ther website,

"You may return any unused item(s) within 90 days for an exchange or a full refund. Authorization is not needed, however, a call to our Customer Service (1-800-328-9280) or Technical Service (320-358-4793) may help you avoid an unnecessary return.

Use the original carton and pack the merchandise securely. Enclose the invoice with a brief explanation for the return/exchange. Ship the package prepaid via UPS or insured Parcel Post. We do not accept return merchandise shipped COD.

A $7.50 restocking fee applies only after 90 days. For items with a manufactured warranty, please follow the instructions specified by the manufacturer. "

Thanks Wrench. ;) I was just looking at the DK website, and I think the Handlebars might be OK, but I know the Speedo Cable is a different part no. so It will have to go back, which really does suck, but I have a gas gauge, so it's not too bad. I may even be able to find a choke cable now, which is kind of important.
