    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

New Uni air filter WOW!

I just picked up and installed a new Uni foam airfilter (for $15). The old suzuki foam one was at a point where if it tried to clean it it would break. So put in this uni, it is the same size as the original and made from foam, but that is where the similarity ends. It BREATHES way better, to say the least I was surprised. I was a tad rich with the dirty old original, I will have to do a chop to see if I am bang on again. For $15 bucks it is a better (budget wise) option than a K&N.
 
Yeah, when I started tinkering with bikes, I was extremely surprised by what a huge difference that little piece of foam could make - ESPECIALLY for bikes with CV carburetors, as most off us here have.
 
Yes. If I remember correctly Uni makes a spray on oil. My local bike shop had the Uni filters and the oil.
 
I was a little surprised it didn't come oiled, but it was ok as I still have a can of Accel foam filter oil, so just oiled it up with that.
 
One more question, changing to a UNI with the stock exhaust is that enough to cause a lean condition? The bike does seem to run a little hotter, carb gurus speak up please[-o<
 
I can speak to a UNI leaning out my 650 versus the stock foam filter. Plugs told the tale. It was slight enough that it could probably be compensated with float levels.
 
I just got a uni (cheaper then the oem anyway) and I was wondering if you used the frame off of the inside of the oem filter? My bike didn't come with one and there is one in clymer under the air filter. Or can anybody tell me the part number off of the frame? I can't find it in the fische on bike bandit.
 
Yep, you can use the frame off a stock filter.
