All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Newb question about a hard tail.

Geez, this forum is super dumb. Anyone know if they actually have a decent suzuki forum with members that actually know something about motorcycles and not just to point out that someone is drinking bud light. Its a ****ing beer, are you 15? Who gives a flying **** what kind of beer someone drinks? Im led to believe most of you "guys" get up on sunday mornings to get all decked out in your gear to jump on your 1980 whatever bannana seat and ride the 3 miles down to starbucks to gossip with your friends about someone. Y'all are a bunch of chicks on hear, with the exception of a few.

Lol...I probably rode more miles last year than you did in the last ten

Age Is Just A Number

Age Is Just A Number

Come on Pilot, it's not nice to use AGE as a method of degradation...both young and old, we have our quirks. (I'm assuming you're kidding)

Let's get back to this hardtail subject. The ideas may be unorthodox but it stimulates the brain to respond either positive or negative. And Lord knows, people have those opinions.

Now, now, Ed. Age does count for some things. Senility may be one of those things, but I have that on layaway.

Kids who cut up bikes, drink bad beer, and denigrate elders who know better on both counts-well, they deserve a bit of ribbing.

Agreed...age does count but we can't teach these young GSers (Or Old Geezers) without expecting lip...they're fully baked!

Heck, I'm still learning the personalities on this board and playing as well as I can.

Although, one can tell character from the bike we ride and the beer we drink...we should be familiar with the poster before the onslaught of ribbing takes place.

But, lets get back to more info on the hardtail...

Where's the hardtail? Need moar pics.

I agree, I want to see garage pics and some progress.

They do, and OP has taken it very well. I want to see what he comes up with here, so a bit less abuse might encourage him to stick around and share pics of the project.

I like the GS450's and like seeing what other people do with them. IMO, as long as it's in good taste (which is obviously subjective) and the work is done thoughtfully and done right I'll enjoy hearing about somebody's project.

Here's a hardtail project that I enjoyed reading about and that wasn't dismissed by the GS community:

He hasn't taken it particularly well, and the "abuse" hasn't been that bad. And that hardtail in the link? Godawfulness incarnate.

I agree with the first two statements. As for the third, I think the bike is cool and I liked following the progress of it - i.e.:) I disagree, but that's fine .

All I can think about when looking at those photos is how much of a shame it was for this beautiful rural countryside to be spoiled by some knumbskull riding a noisey a$$ bike with open pipes though it. Damn shame.

That's harsh. I just skimmed through the 4 pages of joy and can only think of "Ghost Rider"...Which is kinda cool.

Very unique bike...I must say. As short as I am, I'd look like a kid trying to reach for those bars...While trying to keep my bum on the seat...Which would give me a back ache!

All I know is, my bike is not being modified. It's fine just the way it is. If someone wants to be creative, no matter how absurd (we) may think, it's their choice. But...The originator must recognize that not everyone will appreciate it.

Thank the gods it is unique. I'd hate to think it has a doppelganger somewhere, frightening children and trying to mate with goats.

I'm not speaking in code Pilot. These style of bikes aren't for everyone...Obviously. They're just not for you and me and the vocalized masses.

Come on OP, post pics of the hardtail!
