A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anyone here use or know of a tear drop style gas tank that will fit this frame? I have looked at a couple on line but you cant really get a good feel for fit, i can fab my own mounting brackets so that will not be the issue, the issue will be in the tank channel width vs the width of the back bone.

Not that I particularly care either way about loud pipes, I found this on the CB1100F forum, and thought it appropriate for this thread.

Aaahhhh, the small dick jokes. This forum is definatley full of quality info. You ask Suzuki owners a question and all they hear is "omg, he said straight pipes" again, its not loud pipes that make suzuki owners look bad, its suzuki riders that make suzuki riders look bad. Its a 450L, my 180 pit bike is louder than this thing.

Well...at least it's an L model... I hate to see much else get the frame chopped. I sometimes can be heard saying that GS####L models & KZ###LTD models should be the only ones of their families to be relegated for chopping up stock frames.

As far as chopped open pipes... without proper length pipes, prematurely cut head pipes absolutely kill low end torque. Proper back pressure being absent does as well. Moderately free flowing is only conducive to high rpm horsepower. A GS450 (especially one with a lot of heavy tubing frame weight added to it and extra rear tire weight with thw big fat cushy tire I predict will be run)is going to require plenty of low end torque. A hard tail is downright dangerous ridden aggressively (i.e. utilizing the part of the powerband that makes most power with open pipes). I suggest long collectors and some homemade straight thru perforated baffle, &/or adding GS500 cams (early ones with cable driven tach gear on the exhaust cam) or GR650 cams (low rpm big lift cruiser cams - be sure to only use the GS450 cam sprockets, same with 500 cams if sprockets have a different tooth count).
Also try dialing in lobe centers to 106 degrees to boost torque even more (cam degree wheel setup needed) to build more low mid power after the exhaust kills it. With the big lift gr650 cams, you'll need to test piston to vslve clearance if advancing the cams to 106, but should work, I believe they are lower duration but highest lift of all gs twins

Oooooo...please make sure you capture a video of sparks hitting the cement floor in your garage...maybe with a Pabst Blue Ribbon can in the back ground!:adoration:

That's a Bud Light in that pic...Right at the same level as Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Geez, this forum is super dumb. Anyone know if they actually have a decent suzuki forum with members that actually know something about motorcycles and not just to point out that someone is drinking bud light. Its a ****ing beer, are you 15? Who gives a flying **** what kind of beer someone drinks? Im led to believe most of you "guys" get up on sunday mornings to get all decked out in your gear to jump on your 1980 whatever bannana seat and ride the 3 miles down to starbucks to gossip with your friends about someone. Y'all are a bunch of chicks on hear, with the exception of a few.

I think w'all like mo betta stuff in genrill. Mo betta beer, mo betta bikes, N mo betta mods on bikes.

I enjoy quality over quantity. Craft beer is good.

Where's the hardtail? Need moar pics.

There's a wealth of knowledge here my friend. As far as subject matter, once a thread is started it belongs to the world. My default beer is Yuengling...

Happy new year.

Proof that bad beer causes unhappiness-and an urge to chop s#it up!

BTW, my default beer is Kilt Lifter.
