DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey fellas here are my carbs could anyone give me a bit of info so I can get some rubber parts for them. I have no idea what to even call them. I did notice they are exactly the same as the carbs on my KZ1000. Thanks here are a few pics.

We can get you info on ALL KINDS of "rubber parts", but it sure would help to know where they go, even if you don't know what to call them.

And, it would also help to know ... WHAT BIKE ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

.

For some reason I cant seem to upload more pictures? They are mikuni's.

They are standard-issue Mikuni BS34SS carbs, as found on most GSes with 1000 or 1100cc engines.

What "rubber parts" are you looking for?

.

I'm not sure ....I have read some stickeys that said a standard rebuild kit is kinda useless. it mentioned replacing the "o" rings and figuring out which jets I would need . The bike is running a Vance and Hines 4 into 1 with packing material in place and pods. The po thru the air-box away. I also need the boots from the intake to the carbs. They were pretty cracked up and loose.

Carbs look like they are from a 83 GS1100 16 valve engine. Buy new boots from your local Suzuki dealer or one of the online places. No substitute for OEM boots.
same time you order your boots order new fuel hose, that automotive stuff is sh$t.

Thanks Guys I hope to get into these this weekend You have me started on the right track!

Finally let them soak in pb blaster I was able to get all the screws loose except one. I boogered it up getting it off.. Ill have to replace it. GS1100e with Vance and Hines exhaust. It also has pods. My pilot jet that is in there now is 45 and the main jet is 138 Can anyone give me a base line for jets for this setup. I suspect the po didn't rejet after modifications. Any help would be great This is my first carb rebuild thanks Steve Murdoch for the carb tutorial it will help immensely!

You should replace all of the JIS screws with stainless socket cap screws or buy JIS scewdrivers

A 138 main jet means it HAS been re-jetted. I have a complete stock 83 air box assembly, less the filter, with even the stock lid, (Try finding one of those!) if you would like to go back to the stock air box. If the slide needles have adjustment grooves in them you have a jet kit installed, which would be the CORRECT way to set them up.
Ray.

Ill check the slide needles tonight Ray Thanks for the offer on the airbox I would like to go stock eventually I will probably just get it running for now though.
