    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The stock size is 0-6 and I see all sorts of sizes but I dont which way to go. My 1/3 throttle is still very lean and I've raised the needles all the way. Please help.. pods and 4 into 1.
 
Coltrain, not an expert here either, but I am not entirely sure you can remove the needle jet itself. After looking at the diagram you posted, our needles are the same, and yes the needle JET is different. You may try increasing the size of your main jet, but im not sure HOW you can get the needle jet out, if at all, and Ive NEVER seen them available for replacements.

EDIT: Heh, i just figured it out...lol. Never mind. But I still have never seen needle jets being available aftermarket. Where are you seeing these?
 
Bingo! This makes sense because you run on the 4th clip! Now I too wanna run on the 4th clip!
Hey so what about those pilot jet settings? Thats kinda weird eh? Your 17.5's are rich? Didn't that diagram show a 22.5 pilot for the 1st batch of engines and then 27.5 pilots for the next batch or something?

Did you confirm with your engine #?

No i didnt match numbers. The carbs on my bike are SURELY off a 77 motor, but the motor is not. The motor that i put in the bike is not the original, but one i rebuilt. Now, as far as the different pilot jet sizes, I am not sure exactly why they are different. The only thing that i can think of is that after 77, the GSs were sent from the factory with a purposely LEAN setting.
