Ive adopted a 79 GS1000e from my father in law and am trying to sort some things out. The bike runs, but i really need to be gentle on the throttle in order for it to rev up. Its just not snappy and idle is a little rough. I pulled all the plugs and they all have spark, but it just seems weak. All carbs seem to get plenty of fuel but its almost like you need to let off the throttle for the bike to "catch up" The carbs have never been touched and the coils are original. (This bike has been owned since new by my father in law) My father in law put in electronic ignition a few years ago and it didnt make a difference. Any ideas on what the culprit might be? I suspect coils....thoughts? Thanks so much and I'm sure I'll be a regular here! Great load of info.
