A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Now I am REALLY confused!!!

OK for those of you have have been keeping up with my trials and tribulations of the Regulator / Rectifier issue I have hit a new question mark. For those who haven't I put a (or what I think is) a R/R unit off an '82 650G on my '81 450L.

The part that came off my bike, part #9 on this diagram:

http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandi...el_dept_id~987994~model_dept_name~GS450LX.asp

The part I put on it isn't listed for an '83 650G, but is listed for an '82 650G in part #12 on this diagram:
http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandi...el_dept_id~987987~model_dept_name~GS650GZ.asp

Now they call that a Rectifer Comp and on the 450L diagram they call it a Reg/Rec. and the wires that come out all match up. Now here is the dosey.....
This is the diagram for the '83 650G It has a Rectifier Comp that isn't finned and looks nothing like the other R/Rs I have seen. My 650 had BOTH the part from the '82 Diagram (which I took off) and the part in the '83 Diagram seen below (calling it the module from here on out):

http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandi...el_dept_id~703460~model_dept_name~GS650GD.asp

Except the module I have as 6 wires coming out into 2 pigtails with the number 32900-34210 Nippondenso 131100-2630 12V

So needless to say I am VERY confused. Can someone please explain to me what this module is, why BikeBandit doesn't show both the module and the R/R on the '82 (BTW, where the R/R is mounted is on top of the plate that the module is mounted under) diagram??? I can get pics of all the parts if that will help!

That part # you have 32900-34210 is an ign module- igniter NOT a regulator

Thanks SOOO very much for clearing that up! I kinda hoped that is what it was, but I figured it was better to ask then assume and blow my battery or something else up!!
