My '82 GS750EZ has an oem oil temp gauge. I found a manual for that exact model and in it a test for the gauge. Says to short sensor lead to ground and gauge should read 320F. I did it and it read well over 320. So is the gauge showing it being warmer or cooler that what it actually is?
I found a test of the actual sensor in a manual for an 83 (different part number of sensor) where you hook up an ohm meter to it, would that test work for mine also??
My bike always gets up to 320 or over after a short while, and at that temp the oil should be cooking I would think?. None of the oil i have drained out of it has smelled burnt or anything.
Does anyone know of how i can test the sensor to see if its accurate at all?
I need to put my mind at ease, if there was no temp gauge to begin with I would never have worried
