I have a chopper project using a 750E motor. The rear wheel is from a Harley with a 48 tooth sprocket. I need a 530 chain, 1 inch offset sprocket to line up correctly. I am not sure of how many teeth I need on the new offset front sprocket to have similar gearing to the original sprockets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All you would have to do is count the original rear sprocket teeth and the front sprocket teeth, then just find ones that are atleast one up or one down. Where did you get the frame and what size tire are you running in the rear?? I have a 78 750 that i want to do the same with but with parts from other japanese bikes mainly Yamaha's.

The stock sprocket tooth count would have been 15 teeth, Tho many have converted to a 16 tooth. That is lookin SWEET man! Love that springer front end. Some day i wish to build one from scratch, more bob than chop, but for sure will have a springer front end on it. Good lookin!

Great looking project!!!!! As far as the tooth count, keep in mind that these engines build power in the higher RPM ranges. If anything, go with a 15 tooth or smaller. Does anyone have a 750 chain drive that they could chime in on, as far as tooth count is concerned? :-s

Where did the rear fender come from?

Currently my 750 has the standard 15 tooth on the front, but a 52 tooth on the rear (stock is 41 and 630 chain type, which ive retained as well) My bike has MASSIVE off the line grunt, but winds out pretty quick (i couldnt tell you RPM range here as i just recently picked up a Tach..heheh) I think what you have...the 15 tooth front, with a 45 tooth rear will be a good combo for what you want. If you want a lil more top end, try the 16 tooth, but i think you'll be ok where you are.

Thanks for the comments. All of the fab work was done by me from scratch fender, frame, sissy bar etc. I am running a 180 tire with a 5.5 rim.

For making the frame did you use bare cases to get your mounts or did you build the jig around the original frame to get the mounting and centering correct?? Project looks awsome keep me posted very interested:-D

I actually had a hardtail chopper frame that I took measurements from and based my frame off of. The frame was set up for a SOHC Honda 750. I just changes the mounts and redesigned the gussets some. Once I had the frame I positioned the motor and fabbed the mounts. I still have all the measurements if interested.

That would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.Do you have any parts lying around that you don't need for the old roller?
