I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Trying to change the oil filter the studs kept spinning as i tried to remove the filter cover and the nuts on top. Now how can i get those guys out? any advice on my situation would be appreciated? thanks.
p.s.

If I am reading this correctly, you were trying to remove the cover, and were not able to do so, as the studs turned as you turned the nuts.

If that is correct, your solution is easy....use a thin-blade screwdriver and push it under the nut. You may have to grind it down a bit and then tap it to get it started under the nut.

Then put a small block of wood under the screwdriver shank and push on the handle as you SLOWLY turn the nut. The leverage will allow the bolt/stud to lift as you turn it.

Once it starts to lift, use a thicker blade, and it should come right out.

OK...Now onto the next step....What has happened is the stud tightness was compromised so that the nut being turned was tighter than the stud.
More-so the stud was stripped in the block ...so ,now what you have to do is clean out the threads with a "bottoming tap" in the correct size and run some new studs in with the strongest number Thread-lock & new nuts.

Peter:
A good shop that works on Suzukis ( Or Dealer) should be able to chase down the stud(s) you will need. If they don't have a stock # listed just take in the studs you've pulled out and they should be able to match em up!
As to access of the top ones ,you may have to remove the exaust pipes to get a good shot at it.

I replaced the top two studs with bolts and washers,
I kept the bottom one just to help line things up.
I find it much easier using the bolts instead of fumbling
with the nuts while trying to push in the springed cover.
Of course I have fat little fingers so that just maybe a personal
problem :(
