DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Oil filter covers

I'm looking to buy a gently used 1150 oil cooler and oil filter cover for use on my 1982 GS1100e. I read often about the "EFE" filter cover, but do all of the following 1150 models have identical oil filter covers?

What about the oil coolers themselves? Are there any differences in the following models?

Will any cooler, and any cover, from the following bikes work on my bike with minimal modifications to my bike or the parts?

long story short... yes, any cover from any of the 1150 motors will work fine with any of the coolers on those bikes :)

So, how you doing on finding a 1150 cover? Are they still tough to find?

So are you going to help him out by selling him one Ray or just wave them in front him?

Hahaha...people's motives are a TRIP!

Where do we get our sense of humor? (Don't answer that!)

OR.... you could simply get your existing cover welded up alla 1150 cover... OR pop a bung in the left hand oil galley under the cover (as you're looking at the cover from the front) to divert oil through the cooler...

I've made plugs for that oil port for less than a buck.
bolt, washers, O-rings and a nylon lock nut.

If you want to look under the Parts FOR SALE section under user name gs11ezrydr. I have an aftermarket cover that will that will fit your needs It's listed as Aftermarket Filter Housing Cover It can be adapted to several models with proper results, Aftermarket coolers or stock 1150 coolers also. Even the 750's with the sending units if needed. Thanks.

Or you could always send a PM to rapidray asking what he wants for one.

I still have the oil galley plug that Chef made for me a couple years ago...A prince of a guy. Check out Ray for a price on the cover. If you want the custom cover plumbed with the hoses and cooler, let me know. I just might take a picture and put it in this thread to help you decide. I am not going to use it as the 1327 stays at the track...

I offered him a price on an 1150 cover & a modified 1100 cover to do the same thing. Ray.

Ray do you have pictures and prices for either of those? Do you have any more to sell?
