If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Oil filter Plate question

I need to remove the oil filter plate to replace for oil cooler installation.
Do I need to drain the oil, or is the filter above oil level?
Thanks.

What is acceptable oil pressure on that engine?

If you have the bike on the center stand, get a floor jack under the engine/oil pan/exhaust crossover, using a wood block to not damage anything. Lift until the rear tire is on the ground. Remove the oil filter cover, you will lose a little oil, maybe 4-8 ounces. (Sorry, don’t know what that is in Canadian;)). Just did this earlier in the week changing, re-sealing the oil pressure sensor. So I’m assuming your 1100 TSCC engine (not and 8 V shaftie, right?) is similar enough to my 750 TSCC.

You shouldn't be tapping the oil filter plate for oil cooler installation. There are two oil passage ports below the plate, which are the proper place to tap for an oil cooler.

Regarding the oil filter spec, you can find that in the factory manual for the 1100.

Thanks, no 16V chain.

Not tapping anything, but you need to change or mod a filter cover to run a cooler.

Why not also install an 1150 cooler and keep it all in the family? That's what I did, used the existing lines.

Easy-peasy. This 1150 rider had too much to drink one night, and by the time he made it out to his bike, well, I was running 100 degrees cooler, him, not so much. ;)

Already have everything to do the job, including new cooler.
